Anthony Ianni

Anthony Ianni is a former basketball star and an anti-bullying autism advocate who now works for the Michigan Department of Civil Rights and participates in the Relentless Tour to talk about bullying. Anthony was diagnosed with Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD), which is part of the Autism Spectrum (ASD), at the age of 4, and is yet another case of misjudgement by doctors, who told his family that he would never be able to do anything. Instead, Anthony became a basketball star, earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the Michigan State University in Sociology and is now a much sought-after public speaker. He is the first known autistic athlete to play Big 10 basketball, played for legendary coach Tom Izzo while at MSU, won two Big Ten Championships, a Big Ten Tournament Title, was the recipient of the 2011 Tim Bograkos Walk On Award and the 2012 Unsung Player Award, and was also a member of the 2010 Final Four team.
